yea,i usually stay up the night before or sleep 3 hours,go crabbing then sleep during the day...got up probably about an hour ago.i have a hard time trying to sleep cause when im laying in bed im thinking about all the equipment that i need, and usually think i forgot something and also about the spots i want to goto.so i end up getting up and checking.had a decent day today, kept 6.5 and up,biggest was 7..almost 3 dozen.very cold,so didnt bring a camera.spent about 3 and a half hours.came home dozed off.crabs are still alive since i just left them at the foyer with the rest of my equipment less the trotline which i make sure goes in the freezer before anything else.

Just courious where did you launch..We where on that river today ..All day not a soul around...We ran 8000ft of line with an auto dipper and 30 traps and caught 1 packed bushel..Had to work hard for these crabs..Water temp was 47 degrees all around from the launch up and down the river...Here is a few pics of Rick(crabologist) who went along with me today..

just courious where did you launch..We where on that river today .

i launched out of miers creek.its a little inlet on part of the river.i stayed inside the inlet cause right where it connects to the river it drops from 10 feet to 3 feet, reducing any kind of rough waves....
also once your in it goes from 6-20 feet.
my friend has a 12 foot aluminum down there that i borrow on ocassion.

i can only assume you guys launched from benedict.
i think it might still be a little cold that far up.
mears creek is like 3 inlets from solomons.
you could try launching out of broomes island (lens marina)if your really brave, and its high tide...otherwise your left to dig your own channel since that is the absolutely worse place to have a marina, since all the setiment builds up right there and makes the water a foot or less deep.its always been like that there for as long as i known,i will guess at least 18 years...
you can probably see the boats grounded at the docks...

RC,

man you are hard core to crab in this weather.  It is cold as a monkey's butt out there I bet.  It did perk me up a little to see that pictures of a nice bushel.  All we need is to get rid of of this weather that is 20 below averge and it might start to do something

Yes, If I'm not mistaken hellen creek is next one up river. Or down river one of the two.
