Yes. Maine CDC said it first re: ME & NH.
I posted an article on this, but it may not have been so obviously about red tide.
Give the Gulf of Maine a couple of weeks and everything will be fine. The red tide came and went.

red tide is a naturally occurring algae bloom here in the north east. When certain environmental conditions are right it blooms like crazy.
this algae contains a biotoxin that is harmful to humans. As shellfish filter the water they also ingest this algae. This causes the biotoxin to concentrate within the shellfish. biotoxin levels can become high enough to kill someone.
As I learned back in high school. Never eat a bad clam...... Bearded or otherwise!
