I dont worry about you or anyone else..When the moratorium comes  next year..You folks from PA will be crabbing in Delaware and Jersey and us MD folks wont have to worry about you coming down here and flooding our ramps.. Because the first thing that is on the books for next years proposed regs  is restricting out of state crabbers. Im not whinning pal just telling you the way that it is

Are they really talking about restricting out of state crabbers? I wonder how they will get away with that one. If the bay gets federal money how will they justify that? I smell a federal lawsuit on that one.

I crab that river everyday and it is full of folks from May till the end of September..Its already over crabbed... Most of the crabs near the hospital are papershells that never even make it to hard crabs..Not counting all the folks running crabs back to their truck..Which reminds me the fellas who have a black and camo boat that run traps down in front of the hospital who recently was fined for taking to many crabs.. I turned you in.. So you dont have to ask around anymore..You have a problem come see me on the water..Im in the Deborah Ann..Heres is my picture on the boat
i love a stand up guy.im with you bro.i kicked a chinamens buket in the water for keepin small crabs.

40 YEARS AGO I ONCE CAUGHT CRABS AT THE HARBOR AND THE BOTTOM OF THE HARBOR WAS FULL OF A BLACK OILY SLIME.WHAT DO YOU THINK IT LOOKS LIKE NOW 40 YEARS LATER.20 YEARS AGO AT THE HANOVER STREET BRIDGE I SEEN THE BALTIMORE CITY POLICE DEPT PULL UP A DEAD BODY AND IT WAS FULL OF CRABS CHEWING ON IT.YOU GUYS NEED TO WAKE UP AND STOP BRAGGING ABOUT YOUR CATCH IN THE NASTY HARBOR. IT IS WHAT IT IS.I RATHER CRAB A SANDY OR MUDDY BOTTOM THAN A OILY SLIMEY ONE.DNR EVEN SAIDS NOT TO EAT ANYTHING CAUGHT IN THE HARBOR.THATS ENOUGH WARNING FOR ME.IF A COMM GUY IS SELLING THESE CRABS TO THE PUBLIC HE SHOULD HAVE THE SAME WARNINGS AS DNR TO THE PEOPLE HE IS SELLING TO.

This guy is bragging that he catches junk crabs and sells them to the public. What a great guy. "It's a shame that maybe a little boy or girl could be eating those crabs and there parents are paying top dollar to eat that polluted filth.

As far as keeping the out of staters from crabbing, I highly doubt it. All the federal funding, funding from PA to clean up the Chesapeake. Maryland may raise prices but they shouldn't bite the hand that feeds them.

2 years ago while dining at Philips Crabhouse Inner Harbor I ask the waitress " Where does all this crab meat come from?" The answer was " All over the world, Japan Asia, Philippines where ever we can buy it." Hmmmmm wonder what their harbors are like?

Even though all the Bays tributaries connect and it's potentially all the same water, I still feel a little better finding the crabs away from the harbor and power plants.

Either way great catch.

I HAVE ONE THING TO SAY I CRABBED AROUND A LOT OF COMMS AROUND THE CHESTER AND IF YOU DO YOUR PART AND STAY FAR ENOUGH AWAY FROM THEIR LINES THEY ARE VERY NICE AND WILL EVEN HELP YOU OUT. THESE PART TIME WEEKEND WONDERS AND HARBOR CRABBERS THAT SOME HOW GOT A COMM LICENCE YOU GUYS ARE WALKING TALKING PROOF THAT THERE ARE MORE HORSES BEHINDS THAN HORSES. RESPONSABLE BUSINESS PEOPLE WOULD NOT EVEN THINK OF SELLING CRABS OUT OF THAT AREA YOU SHOULD INFORM YOUR BUYERS WHERE YOU ARE CATCHING YOUR CRABS I THINK MAYBE YOUR SALES MAY COME TO A HALT. AS FAR AS THREATS ON THIS SITE TO OTHERS I THOUGHT YOU HAD TO BE AT LEAST 16 TO OPERATE A BOAT HOW ABOUT ACTING IT.

Keep in mind crabs are very transient.  The same crab in the harbor today could have been swimming in the bush, gunpowder, or even the Wye yesterday.  This topic has been discussed many times and it's to the person prerogative to crab where they choose.  Do you think these dark muddy crabs that are being caught right now are coming from pristine and clear waters?  Let's think about this?  Let's take the Wye river as an example.  Is there a public sewage system sourrounding the Wye River?  Where do you think all the sewage from all the $million homes goes to?  Let's take it another step.  Before there was a big push for doing things ecologically correct, where did all the oils, and toxins that were used every day in everyones house in the 40's 50's 60' 70's and even into the 80's go?  Before there were laws prohibiting the dumping of raw sewage, where do you think all this went from the boats that used the Wye river in the past?  The Wye is not as clean as one would like or think it is.  The Bay got an overall D+ for cleanliness.  Don't all these river flow into the bay and vice versa?  Do you think that the chemicals fall right to the bottom and don't move?  How much silt from construction do you think has built up in the bottom of all these rivers in the last 10 years?  Don't you think some of what is on the bottom has been covered up?  We can talk acid rain.  It does rain over the Wye?  I have been on the waters for over 30 years, the clarity of the Wye this summer was the worse I have ever seen it.  If the waters were as pristine as one would like, there would not be these dirty mudders we are catching.  As for RC, congrats on your full time operation and hope you got your share this year.

Just my opinion from my view  Cool

I'll second Duane's oppinion.  On top of that, the industrial property owners in the harbor and all along the Scottapsco river watershed have been forced to spend millions and millions of dollars over the last 25 years by new EPA regulations and things like the Clean Water Act to eliminate industrial wastes that pollute the area or face enough fines to put them out of business.....
