Looks like the full moon in May is the 9th.  I think that is probably to early for the first big peeler run here.  A new moon is on the 24th, so I am thinking the peeler run will be that week.   Huh

I think it'll be around the 24th too. New moon, aka no moon means they can sneak around w/o being seen. Full moon means they'll all be seen and get caught. But wait a minute. Jack, didn't you say there's no crabs in Va?

Well, it's going to be the full moon after all for the spring peeler run.  Peelers are showing up and hardcrabs are hiding.. Waters 75.

Full moon tonight here and I wanted to go pick up soft shells so bad, the tide was perfect tonight but the south wind has been blowing strong and the water here is too dirty to make a go of it. Maybe my luck will change before the crabs have all shed out. Good luck to the north east and Florida too.

CW, the first run is over.  The second, smaller shed is starting up.

The first one was great!
