Thinking about taking the wife and younguns to Gloucester Point campground in July or August.  Anybody been there or know how the crabbing is from their piers?  How about the campground itself, nice place?
Thanks.

Pier is licensed. Gets REAL CROWDED on the weekends. Show up early for a good spot. Beach is nice. Plenty of parking for the boaters. They have a concession stand/bait shop.

Word is, mostly females being caught there now. If you are looking to kill a day and catch a few, you should do OK. They are doing better farther up the York around west point - York river park. BUT THATS BY BOAT NOT FROM SHORE.

Good Luck. Let us know how you do.

Thanks for the replies.  We ended up making reservations at Westmoreland State Park (closer to home), and I am here now.  So far nothing but throwbacks, but that is better than nothing at all.  Hopefully I will have something to report in a few days.
