25 years ago my cousin and I used to go to Commercial pier in Ft. Lauderdale and load up a trash can using pyramid traps as kids. Reading through the forums here I see that as with most of our fishery things do not look so promising these days?

Does anyone have any info on the Palm Beach county area? The Lake Worth pier just opened back up so I wanted to get the kids out and see if I could replicate the fun I had when I was their age. It is hard enough to get kids outside away from the electronics these days so I try to make the experiences as rewarding as possible to promote their interest in new outdoor activity.

It does not seem like pyramids are the tool of choice so can I use a box trap off a pier? I figured it should work but may have to sit longer between pulls to give the crabs time to locate the entrance? Thanks for any assistance!
