  I plan to go to to veterans park in port st .luice. tomorow a.m.    .i will try 4 handlines and 2 folding traps w/ necks and fish heads....will post results..

He's in Fla. now,we do things a little different down here and it works just fine and southern crabs seem to like fish and fish heads.  Shocked Grin

They are free around here unless you are using skipjack heads and they are around $15 a flat.

As RD said most heads free,but I really don't use much for blue crab. We do use grouper/snapper heads for stone crab. Prices run .40 to .46 cent per lb. Our fish house cuts up the heads into  1 to 1&1/2 lb. chunks, also use pig feet along with heads.

you guys are lucky .......over here on the gold coast the crabs are so spoiled, you must use pompano or hog snapper heads...sometimes if they are real hungry you can use yellowtail  heads with one fillet still attached ...

  as far as stone crabs go,we've gone to a center cut pork chop or two in each trap....they won't touch pig feet...... :
