Just wanted to get a little feed back on whether New Jersey should change there size limit to 5 inches instead of 4.5.   I really think if we did change the size limit like Maryland there should be more around.  Let me know what you guys think.

I don't see any difference between the # of crabs in NJ where I crab and down in Delaware (which has a 5" size limit.)

OC said it..set your own size limit at five inches, no girls.. Wink Grin

Almost forgot..NJ ain't gonna do nuthin' cause they do not now nor have they ever had a clue when it comes to crabbing. A few old farts from the local town hall meeting back in 18..er 194.. er 55
whilst passing the jug and with absolutely no clue as to what, or how crabs behaved, multiplied, molted, or anything else drew up the first and only crab regs. Not one solitary marine biologist or anyone with half an idea ever bucked the system to straighten it out for fear of losing there pension when then public found out how little they knew. Then or now. A few have excepted a couple monetary grants on false pretenses of saying they know how to aid the crab population and health. Have been hounding Port Republic and the powers that be for 4 years. Talk about dancing.. Roll Eyes ol' Lt. er Capt. Chicahoohoo has more answers than any one person could come up with. Starting with..."that's the way it's written'' .. "State is in a money crisis".."it'll take two years or more to get it done".. That was four and a half years ago and that's the same argument he'll offer today. Real mental giants on the ol' payroll waitin' for pension time. Your usual political "lipservice".. as though some one aske them to actually get off their a$$e$ and do something besides readingf what their officers in the field did the prior month and the fine monies it put in
the coffers. And boys and girls, the head hauncho actually carries a loaded firearm. SCAREY !!!

Sounds like typical NJ politics and scratching of heads.  Maybe one day I will try to do something, but in this state it probably won't go far.  The way I see it, the chances of a size change are about the same as finding Jimmy Hoffa's body, ain't gonna happen.  laugh laugh laugh
