just got back from vacation in Hatteras. brought a pot to tie to the dock just for fun. 1st night wound up catching a nice stone crab & a 6 1/4" blue claw

careful with that stone. they are out of season right now in nc and illegal to posess any part of them. They are everywhere right now though. We catch a few dozen a day in our traps and I hate to throw all of those beautiful claws back but I must.

bigE..... that's good to know. i didn't know they had a season in NC. this was our 12th year vacationing down there & 1st time i ever caught one.

Gene -

we've always vacationed in the southern towns of OBX (Frisco, Avon, Hatteras). was looking into trying Duck or Corolla next summer. not familiar with that area at all. is the crabbing any better/worse up in the Currituck Sound versus down in the Pamlico Sound?
