I caught 160 Crabs in abotu 4 hours at Crystal Beach on Port Bolivar....sounds good right? Not so much...156 of them were Pregnant Females!!! We had to throw them all back...

Where are the male Blue crabs at???

the crabs were plentiful, more than I have ever seen, literally were getting a bite every other minute, but for some reason they were ALL female and almost ALL pregnant!

It might be prudent to look for a fresh water outflow.  Females like the water salty.  Males like it less salty.

were you crabbing in the surf? If so thats just what they do! they'll spawn in the ocean and then go back in the bayou....try roll-over pass
