Better be big crabs, you can only keep 50.

So i checked the rules and regs. Seems you can have 50 crabs per person on the boat with a max of 100. If you need 100 to fill a bushel I am not wasting my time. Those crabs can stay out there and grow. Also says 5" size limit, thats pretty small crabs. If it aint 6" I throw back. Maybe I am spoiled by the Wye and Miles river up here in MD!!!!!

Yeah...you're right. If we were like you are "up" there someone would have already told you not to ask questions and use the search feature. Another would complain about giving out too much information about honey holes and ruining them. Still another would "suggest" donating some money to get the good info.  I know nothing about crabbing around Topsail Island. If I did I would gladly share it with you. Apparently nobody reading this post does either...hence no reply. Recreational crabbing just aint that big of a deal in NC. If you want to know anything about crabbing the Pamlico or Neuse Rivers I'll be glad to help since I know and crab these rivers. And as far as "...people in NC are not as friendly as up here? "  I've just got one word to say about that.....genecrabman - North Carolinas' Crabbing good will Ambasador.
