I thought - I'm an engineer and designer, I can come up with a better idea.
I modified the one on the right -
see photo of 99 cent harbor freight stainless steel scissors with the back edge cut down.
put the point in at the crab leg joint and cut right up the leg, also good for removing chicken skin etc. - works good

(true story - I was at a party and a girl asked what I did and I said I was an Engineer.
