was eating king crab legs and found cutting the shells difficult and somewhat dangerous

I thought - I'm an engineer and designer, I can come up with a better idea.

I modified the one on the right -
see photo of 99 cent harbor freight stainless steel scissors with the back edge cut down.

put the point in at the  crab leg joint and cut right up the leg, also good for removing chicken skin etc. - works good  Wink

(true story  - I was at a party and a girl asked what I did and I said I was an Engineer.

She looked at me with a straight face and asked - What Railroad  laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh )

she was a blond  laugh laugh laugh

Edumacation Majors are the guys that couldn't get in to the Social Worker program, so they became forever students then when they turned 30 and their mother threw them out of the basement -  they became English teachers  laugh laugh laugh laugh

having lobster tonight - going to see how they work splitting the shell.

PS - once you have king crab, snow crab is like a hamburger versus steak. And I serve king crab with something else so it is an accent, not the main course  Wink Grin so it's not too bad  Grin Grin Grin Grin
