If you're using the new Internet Explorer version 8 to view this website, make sure you're using "Compatibility View" or menus and text may be unreadable or other strange behavior may occur. I've had nothing but problems with IE8.

Click the blue (?) icon then select "About Internet Explorer" to see what version you're running.

To switch to compatibility view, click the little torn-paper icon to the left of the refresh button. Or, run a different browser like Mozilla's Firefox.  Wink

I use vista so I did this

right click button
click properties
read the version

for compatability

click on tools top right
click on comp view setting
click add when you see blue crab

the only problem I have is sometimes when I modify a post --- the text jumps up and down and scrolls off the page, not a big deal

I knew all the problems that I have been having was after I was forced to install IE8.  But, I have 2 other PCs that work ok with it.  Huh

This site works great with firefox.

I agree, firefox is a much easier browser to use.  I tried installing IE8 at work and had nothing but problems with our proprietary software and web based apps.  I am disgusted with all the problems with Vista and IE8.   Hopefully Microsoft gets it right with Windows 7 this fall.

So far though Windows 7 works pretty good.  I have been running it for a few months and all the program drivers were picked up and worked correctly, unlike when Vista was released.  Still early buts I think they may have finally gotten the hint and did it right.

So far Windows 7 is looking good. Much better than Vista. Vista is not bad if you have the hardware to run it, but you need one [Sam Hill] of a PC to run it well. By the way ST, you can go back to IE7. I'v had to do this. Cant remember if it rolls back to IE7 after uninstalling IE8 or if I had to reinstall IE7 after unistall, but it can be done.

I tried both ways and it says" it can't override the existing program", switched to firefox and can access all the problem sites that were giving me trouble on IE8, but thanks for the help.

Sometimes windows and IE will drive a person crazy. Haven't seen that error, so don't know right off how to overcome it, but at least you got it working with another browser. I have installed IE8 on over 200 client PC's and the problems haven't been as hard to deal with as I originally suspected, but still confuses and causes irritation to allot of folks. Microsoft better quit screwing around before Mac completely takes over the market.
