We tried crabbing in Delaware for the first time this year. Stayed in Rehoboth Beach and brought some gear with us. Saw a post under “August crabbing in Rehoboth? “ concerning a charter service run by Captain Jerry Hammond.  We tried the 18ft boat option:

On August 4 we took the 18 ft boat, up the river from 7am to 1pm.  We used several traps plus and two trotlines which come with the boat along with bait. We ended up with 75 keepers ~ three-quarters of a bushel and had a lot of fun catching them. We highly recommend Jerry and this crabbing option.

He can be reached at (302) 542-9066

The price was $225 and the trotline and traps were baited by the captain.  We just worked the line with a net while he operated the boat and pulled traps as we got to them.
