I looked all over the NJ regulations and didn't see any mention of crab pots requiring cull rings.  Does anyone have a link to where NJ requires cull rings on crab pots and what the size needs to be??

Thanks-

cull rings  are not  needed  in nj   BUT a  turtle excluder is  for  narrow  water ways  and a
biodegradable   sq  as an escape  in case the  pot  is lost

the lid of the trap counts as the boidegradable panel as long as it is attached with steel hog rings or something made of steel so it can rust away if trap is lost.

On my old pot I replaced the hinges and latch with twine, I figgured it would rot away that much faster.  I replace the twine each season.
