Well i made it to my favorite little honey hole , and was not disappointed ,had to weed through about 100 shorties to get to my 20 keepers but had a great time doing it. It looks like a promising year of crabbing, i used 2 traps and 2 lines all with chicken parts. had a blast and plan on going back in a couple weeks, they should be a little bigger then 'cause most of the shorties were just under legal by 1/2" to 1/4". The only thing is you need a small boat to get to the area,,,,,,,,,,oh yeah,,,,,,,,,the area,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the branch river in branford, have fun and i hope you catch crabs.

We still haven't gotten any large crabs in Norwalk area yet. Just smalls to 5".

How big were your larger crabs?

Thanks for the good news on CT crabbing. I'm ready to go hunting for crabs but don't have a boat. Any place nearby where I can work from the shore or pilings?

Glad you are getting them.....seems like a banner year for blue crab in the north east.

With this heat and humidity, those little buggers are chomping on everything. Posted my report earlier.

I caught a bunch on dead slack low. really odd, but they were all over the bait. BUNKER was used.

Where is the branch river in Branford? I live in Branford and dont know where you are talking about
