ALL females carried by the males are indeed, peelers. The degree of "ripeness" can cover the whole scale from green to busting. Incidently, recs CANNOT possess female peelers - only female soft crabs.

I caught 2 soft crabs trotlining Sunday, but at least 90% of doublers will be peelers, which as mentioned above, are illegal for a rec to keep.
The Jimmy might hold onto them a couple of days as peelers, depending on how far along they are, but he'll only hold onto them for a couple hours after they shed, so your odds aren't too good.

When you say the doubler's are peelers you mean the female is the peeler or both?

The Sally is the "peeler". Not both.
