Hi all, I'm heading down to Sunset beach the 2nd week of Sept. my mom was down there a couple of weeks ago and said that there are signs on the inlet side saying not to eat any shellfish. i understand about clams (being filter feeders), but what about crabs? are they safe? I was really excited about a full week of clamming & crabbing! Cry  If the inlet side is no good, what about dropping a crab pot from the pier? Thanks in advance for any help

I'm sure there are good spots, just get away from the shorelines, they shut them down because of run-off...
