i am looking for a place where we can walk out and scoop them up. i do not have a boat. this is my fathers bday gift so I appreciate your feedback.
First landing state park, in "the narrows" area had lots of waders when I went. Some on just handlines, others with poles setup, with string between them and a lot of handlines. Commercial crab people going through too lots, see them sorting as they pass through.
They charge for parking, during the week often no one on the hiking side of the park. Been there once with crabbing in mind - and saw good catches. This is located in VA beach.
Can do it from beach, soft and fine to wade. Also towards rocky areas, were people with biggest catches.
Can see other post about VA beach location, where I talk about it and give links.
