I need assistance in finding 2 bushel of crabs for my daughters wedding rehearsal dinner.  It will be in Corolla N.C, September 11.  I am from Maryland and do not know the area.  I beleive some members on this site were selling crabs there last year.  Any assistance would be much appreciated

Thanks

Contact Gene, he'll hook you up.  Gene set me up with a bushel of #1's last week and there were 105 crabs and we swore some of them were Jumbos.  We checked around before buying from Gene and the going price was $65 for 1/2 bushel in Duck.

I would bring chilled live MD crabs down and cook them myself. Cause you know MD blue crabs are the BEST you can get.  Had OBX crabs last year. Way different tasting and not near as sweet! Grin

Embarassed Sorry Gene.  105 #1's sounds far fetched to me.  At least around here anyway when a heavy bushel of # 1's packs a bushel full and is roughly 6 -7 dozen.  105 crabs would be considered # 2's in my book.  Ray is a comm.  Ask him how many # 1's he can pack in a bushel..   Huh

And look at this link directly from this website please and I apologize if I insulted you.   http://www.bluecrab.info/buying_hards.htm

Ask Ray who packs a bushel more full... Maryland or Carolina?? Do you want to bet a lunch on the answer?   The guy didn't want Jumbo's and he got 5  1/2 -6" Jimmies most were around 5 1/2" Thats what the guy ordered and thats what he got.. And I'm able to fill most orders as to what people want.. I had A guy today that wanted 2 bushels of sooks.. That what he got, SOOKS.. I'm not in the business to sell 36 crabs per bushel 2 times a year... I sell folks what they want...And all my Baskets are rounded full, not the Md Bull$hit thats flat or soup bowled lids...Thats all I have to say...

1 more thing, I've caught thousands of bushels this year, Would you care to tell me how many you've caught...

Have a great rest of the year and quit pizzin' and moaning... Grin

check my Elk River post from 9/4.  I catch my limit and go home when I crab.

Sorry I questioned you and from the sound of your 7th grade response one would hope that the person asking for crabs steers very clear and takes their business elsewhere.
