They were crawling out of the basket when we pulled our traps and that was 56 crabs that I would have considered between #1 and jumbos. Guess you would call a 6" crab a jumbo where you come from and a peeler a #1. Crabs settled after a 30 minute ride home to the level you see there. (notice the trap in the boat since we were finished and the pic was taken in my driveway. I would feel sorry for your customers if you crabbed here. I guess you guys can keep 4 inchers there?

Make up all the [shiz] you want, that bushel isn't full. It would get you laughed off the dock at the dealer's. All my crabs are shipped to Maryland.

The basket wasn't full when I got home and you have a good point. We left when we were opening the basket and 3 crabs crawled out to every one crab we tried to put in there. And those heavy packed bushels you send to MD probably get leveled off and marked up BIG TIME. Good for you by the way. I thought all the crabs that MD resident THINK are caught fresh from the Chesapeake Bay were coming from the Bayou.

Nice looking MD crab there. However, When more are crawling out of my basket than I can put in, then the lid goes on an it's a bushel and I'm DONE. When comms get back to the dock no problem for you guys packing a bushel after some settling. If I put 6 or 8 more crabs in the cooler (for settling purposes) and get caught with those crab... I'd rather not risk losing my crabbing privelages since my lisence only covers 1 FULL bushel when I'm on the water. Maryland DNR are a real pain here and it's not worth it. We fill a bushel with crabs crawling out of the basket and we GO HOME. Settling occurs and you know it so give me a darn break.

No Breaks, You have to buckle the lid when filling and they stay that way.. Minimal settling... You need to get a Filler or Hopper Made up to top your baskets off.. Sorry for my ignorance, I thought you knew what you were doing... $45.00 plus shipping

I prefer to pay $20 total between the launch fee and bait and catch my bushel of JUMBO crab as opposed to the garbage 5" crab you send to MD for the suckers who are willing to pay over $100 after mark up for your mediums.

I think that's why they call them MARYLAND BLUE CRAB
We keep the REAL ones that we fill our bushels with and all of our garbarge that we throw back ends up down south.

The Saga lives on - just what is a #1 crab? - Could it be like Beauty - In the eyes of the beholder? - opinions are argued to a point of non resolution - numbers don't lie - but liars use numbers - and Facts - well they are only facts when it works for you!

That's the whole point of my name idiot. A little play on words that you southern jokers probably don't understand along with the Dutch Navy that likes to crowd MD waters. Maybe you all should get together and spend some of your crabbing revenue on a G.E.D.

You post a RAY bushel and say that his is less than 40 for a MD "style bushel" Thanks for the compliment! And you pack 105 for a basket of # 1's? ? Looks like that MD bushel is about 6 crabs shy of being packed of what you consider # 1's. Get real son and stop hating our JUMBOS!

Contact Gene, he'll hook you up. Gene set me up with a bushel of #1's last week and there were 105 crabs and we swore some of them were Jumbos. We checked around before buying from Gene and the going price was $65 for 1/2 bushel in Duck.
the crabs couldn't have been very big if there were 105 in a bushel, unless your baskets are alot bigger than ours.
