AC,
How many traps do you pull each day, and what is considered a good days catch? Do you judge your catch in pounds or each, as in claws? Do you have regular customers or do you sell on a first come first serve basis?
Thanks.....just curious.

I pull(with dual hyd. pullers and 3 crewmen) 800 to 1000 per day. A good catch is 1/2lb of claws per trap. On our opening(oct 15) we usually avg. 1lb per trap. Last season I had a couple of days when I caught 3lb plus per trap. I have never seen that in 19 yrs of crabbing and will probaly never see it again, but one can hope.
I sell all my claws to a fishouse, I buy my bait and fuel from them also, in return my dockage and storage for my traps and gear is free.
I'll post some pics of working our gear in a few days.

Great thread. Very informative.
Unfortunately, it's just a matter of time until some shill shows up and talks about the stone crabs he snared using his trusty CRABHAWK~!
