AC,

How many traps do you pull each day, and what is considered a good days catch? Do you judge your catch in pounds or each, as in claws? Do you have regular customers or do you sell on a first come first serve basis?

Thanks.....just curious.

I pull(with dual hyd. pullers and 3 crewmen) 800 to 1000 per day. A good catch is 1/2lb of claws per trap. On our opening(oct 15) we usually avg. 1lb per trap. Last season I had a couple of days when I caught 3lb plus per trap. I have never seen that in 19 yrs of crabbing and will probaly never see it again, but one can hope. Wink I sell all my claws to a fishouse, I buy my bait and fuel from them also, in return my dockage and storage for my traps and gear is free.  Grin I'll post some pics of working our gear in a few days.

Great thread.   Very informative.

Unfortunately, it's just a matter of time until some shill shows up and talks about the stone crabs he snared using his trusty CRABHAWK~!    Grin
