Got out for what looks like the last time this season on Saturday morning. Ran 30 traps at mean low tide at 6:55 in the morning. It was like a sheet of glass when we first got out there. At slack tide, after 4 runs, we had about a dozen and a half -- all larges or jumbos (biggest was 8 inches). Somewhere around 8:15 the wind started picking up. By 9:00 we were battling 15 to 20 MPH winds and the crabs were no where to be seen.

When we were catching crabs, they were in 10 to 12 foot of water. The next time out, I think we will just go for rockfish. All in all, it was a good season.
