left pa.with my neighbor chris...aka(crab daddy) for indian river at 4:30am tuesday.had to stop at my camper and grab a few essentials and were on the water by 7:15am. ran up and set 500' trot line and 12 traps under the power line water depth 2 to3'. first run of traps produced 5 crabs all keepers 1st run of the line only got 2 keepers. i thought oh god another slow day, decided after the 5th run of each we decided to move to the cove right before the plant. we set the line and traps and gave it like a 10 minute soak while we at a sandwich. well from there it was game on, consistant runs of 10-20 crabs per run between the line and traps. we ended the day with 2  bushels of mixed males and females with 70 percent being males, all crabs were big by delaware standards with one jimmy going almost 8" and one big female  at 7 3/4'' a few whitey's but most were full. did i forget to mention i forgot my license at my camper and realized it halfway into the day and said oh well , until we got back to the ramp and who is pulled up there, that's right "the man". well lucky for us he was writing out alot of citations for a guy illegally cleaning out someone elses pots. i saw him hand the  guy 3 fines as chris made a beeline for the truck and trailer. we loaded the boat in record time and were outta there before he asked us any questions. went back to my camper steamed all the crabs and were home in pa by 7:45pm. i would like to give a big  thankyou to chris for inviting me to go with him and for the good time and great laughs we had. now it is time to turn my efforts toward hunting and striper fishing. water temp was 59 degrees at the start with it rising to 62-63 degrees at best. till next time good luck to all and be safe.......rob
