good question.  I don't have a clue because I've never attempted to crab there, but what I can tell you is that the Leipsic River (which is what feeds garrison lake and connects it to the delaware) does have crabs in it.  I've caught em off the bridges on the river.  not huge numbers but if you give it some time on the right day you can get a nice amount.  BUT, the lake is much further inland.  I'm sure some stragglers make their way into the lake assuming there isn't a [dang] in the way, but I wouldn't count on it being full of crabs.  Like I said I've never crabbed in the lake before, so I'm not sure, but there are crabs in the river that feeds it.

how far is it off the bay?  i crab an area in jersey that is almost 7 miles inland from the delaware river and i catch good crab there.  3 dozen 6-7 inch crabs isnt uncommon.

how wide/deep of a river/creek? this ones only between 2-5 feet, gets rather narrow.  Lots of marsh land and little tributaries for them to wonder off in.  But on a map, going straight line its about 10 miles.  The bridge i mentioned before is about 6 miles inland of bay, 4 miles away from lake.

Maybe in the spillway but I doubt there are any in the lake. Even if one or two made their way into the lake it would be hard to find them.

There are no crabs in garrison lake! its all fresh water, yes the tributary on the other side of the spillway connects to the liepsic, but you wont catch crabs for a ways down. Now with that being said, I am sure somewhere, someone has caught one and will come on here and say how they caught a half bushel out of the spillway and I am sure, for whatever reason there probably a few crabs that made it to the spillway and someone either caught them or saw them so take what I am telling you as you will. There are a whole lot better spots to go crabbing then there!

MayFloat,, you are obviously trying to hide your secret spot.  This forum is made up with members who share crabbing locations and techniques.  I plan on crabbing the lake this weekend and you can do nothing about it! laugh laugh

No crabs in the lake.  I bet a man could catch some in the building across RT. 13 from the lake.

You'd probably catch a lot worse than crabs in there.
