I've read where you guys/gals add vinegar to the water when you steam your crabs.  Is it also a good idea to do for steam/reheat snow crab thats already been cooked?

We got some snow crab for $5/# out here in BFE and I told the wife to get plenty...she only got about 8#'s.  She just doesn't understand my need for my crab fix. Angry   Wink Grin

She made some the other night and they were good, but the meat seamed to "stick" in the shell.  Could be just the crab too.  They were nice size and full, for us anyway.

I'm gonna try to post something cause you all have great posts and I've learned alot.  Won't be about blue crab, but maybe interesting for some of you.

Thanks for all the help.

Also, post pix of your crab meals!!!  Love pix of crab!

I don't think it matters on reheating.  But steam'n is the way to go.  Also found out that the kids don't have the patience to work on blue crabs.  Basically I eat the body/top, and the wife and kids eat the legs and claws.  They don't like pick'n thru it that much Embarassed, I love it for some reason. I just got back from St. Paul Isle, alaska and I bought a 40 pound box of FRESH snow crab off the Northwestern,Got to meet Matt, Sig was sleeping, box of crab was 144.00, we only boiled the crab to get off the sea water /ice that's flash frozen on the crab, did a visit to the steaming factory, and what a clean place .

I would buy Trident seafood crab in a heart beat,I have Pics if some one can post them from crab boat to table.

Just boil them to heat, there cooked already.

They have to be cooked..........crab/crabmeat can only be shipped live or cooked in the U.S. Crabs cannot be frozen live and shipped.

I steam mine for 5 minutes and have never had a problem with them sticking, I also add sugar to the water and it will add to the flavor but I never use vineager because I can't stand the stuff.
