Sorry Guys....I believe the season is over on the Bush. Went out on Sunday, near the mouth of the Bush with 30 traps and NOTHING.
Well, plan for next season.

Thanks for the report. I was thinking about one more trip this coming weekend, but I think that iced it. Guess I will repair and replace gear and winterize the boat. Then I can oil the shotguns and wait for goose season.

I recently moved into the area and now that I have the Bush river in my back yard I figure that now is the perfect time to start crabbing.
I do not have access to a boat but I do have a private pier to drop a pot or two off of. It's right off the bank of the river so I would have to toss a trap out in the water.
Is the bush river a good place to catch a few crabs? I don't need a lot, I'd be happy with a dozen or two.

You'll start catching em next year so long as you're out past the train bridge off the banks with pots. Usually doesn't start in earnest til mid-July or later most years up this way.

I guess i gotta go down by the bridge, I'm further up the bush river probably directly in the middle of the AMTRAC bridge and where the bush river goes under Rt 40.

Yeah, that's way too fresh in there. Need some brackish water.
Good luck.
