Crabbing Season

Gents,
I crabbed last year for the first time in Sussex County Delaware. About when is the right time to start getting the gear together. I used regular crab pots last year. How does one use the drop pots, is it almost the same principle as a trotline. I cant wait until season opens.!!!
Thanks.

welcome!
step 1. search function.
repeat step 1 as necessary.
when to get the gear together? as soon as you want, just start crabbing after the water temp hits 55ish.
