Went to Slaughter Creek this morning.  I was there with my 26 topless traps watching the sunrise.  Waited until it was legal and dropped them.  It was a little chilie this morning but I was dressed for it and it warmed fairly quickly.

It was a typical day for Slaughter. There weremany small crabs, I know I through back several hundred of them.  Only a handful were females, very different from my last few trips to the Choptank where 3/4 were females.  Or even the Wye where up to 1/3 were females.

I ended up with 59 keepers.  They ranged from just legal to decent size, no mumbos.  But there are rarely mumbos at Slaughter Creek.

Another fun year, I got to eat many crabs with friends and family.  I also gave plenty away to people who like me more now than they use to  laugh.

Good luck to all and have a safe winter, it will be May before you know it.
