What A Day !!! Dad coulnd't make it so the alarm clock went off at 4 am... I shut that sucker off and wrapped back up in the blanet and two quilts. Starting dreaming, she was wearing.............. uh, never mind.........dang it went off again 9 minutes later........shut that sucker off and didnt get up until almost 6:30.....GAWD she looked really good in .............sorry off subject again......so unhook the batteries and fill up the coffee mug and away I go and .......ITS DAYLIGHT..... new feeling for me when heading out crabbing. On the water shortly before 9am and the weatherman is and idiot. by 9am its only supposed to be 6mph winds......duh try 15 or so.. the boat is splashed and tied to the dock while i park the truck. Get on the boat and it is slamming the pylons (did i spell that right ?) the waves are coming in and just slamming me....I am at little creek dock....some duck hunters come in with what appears one lesser snow goose...(they must not have been having the same kind of dream I was when the alarm clock went off !!!)...motor will not start...ggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, dang, dang, dang,, keep trying and it finally kicks in ( I have a little refreshment while i am trying this (HEY, ITS 5 OCLOCK SOMEWHERE DANG IT AND I DROVE OVER TWO HOURS TO GET HERE!) Away I go, waves kicking up, sun shining, cooler full and ready to go. Slowly motor out to my spot and HEY ITS OPEN NO ONE IS IN MY SPOT !!! Well to be honest no one else was out there. Put 11 pots in my first string and motor back and put 15 pots in my second string. Start to motor back to see if any crabs in my pots (it is now over an hour since i laid my first pot) WHOA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG WAVE COMES OUT OF NOWHERE. Washes over the side of the boat and almost causes me to put down my liquid refreshment. Turn on the bilge pump. (Tested before I left the dock from [Sam Hill]) and it pumps like Dan Snyder buying a new redskins revival tool. The first 11 pots brought in 3 keepers but the rest of the day was fighting the wind and the WIND. However I got 2 huge keepers. Tatoo I would like to mount them, they are awesome.

Final tally was 16 keepers and I threw back 4 small ones. (Although I think twice it was that same little guy who loves chicken !!!) No females, they must be in the ocean having the young'uns god bless those sweet little girls I would kiss them all if I could.

Must ask what do you do with all those batteries does'nt look tobe a electric motor. Look like a lot of extra weight.

I use the batteries to run the electric motor and use that to motor to the crab pots. You know, to catch a unique crab you have to neek up on them. LOL But I make sure they are fully charged to run the bilge pump, my boat leaks bad and if the bilge dont run, russ sinks, so I want plenty of extra juice in time on need. Crabs are still out there, monday is supposed to be nice..cough cough...sheesh I might have crab flu and have to go back out. Happy Crabbing Everyone. Russ

Unless you're running out past Bodkin Island, you're actually in Crab Alley Bay. Not a big deal, but a little confusing.
