To All,
I went crabbing for the first time this year on Sat. 7/12/03 out of the Magothy River.  I started the day around 6-7a.m. (high tide was around 5:45a.m.).  Caught over 1/2 bushel in about 3.5 hours using 24 collapsable traps.  Almost all of the crabs I caught were in shallow water (4-5.5ft.).  I tried some traps in a little deeper water, but did not get any crabs in the deeper water.
Most of the crabs were between med. to xlarge in size which was nice, and about 9 crabs were on the lighter side.
All in all a pretty good first day, I will probable be back to the Magothy this weekend for a longer day and hopefully more crabs.  I will post my results.
