Puck34:

I have been in that area twice in May.  Did ok using a trotline.  Did have a lot of droppers but that is normal for that early in the year.  Caught about 1/3 bushel first time and about 1/2 on my second trip there.

Things should really have picked up with the onset of all this warm weather.

Good luck this weekend.

Hit the Tred Sunday 5:20 am  thick fog, a lot of crabs and a TON of boats.  Took in a bushel by 9 am. But I had to do way to much measuring!! A lot of small crabs is a understatement.

I was there Sun 6/26.  Very late start, 11:am. First time at Tred. Kind of a trial run. But caught 9 big crabs, several throw backs. Not far from Oxford Ramp. Nice river.  Not the greatest ramp for larger float on trailer at near low tide. ... and yes you now need a sticker for this ramp as of spring 2005.

Hit the tred Sunday.  Dropped the boat in the water at 4:35 a.m. , on my spot and waiting for the starters gun at 4:55a.m.  First 2 runs of the trot a little slow an then the muther load broke lose!!  Started dipping mumbos from about 6:15a.m. til 7:30ish mostly really nice 7+ inch crabs.  Starting wrapping up at 8:30 with the bushel.  A great day to be a wanna be waterman!! I'm stuffing Rock fillets tonight with the remaining harvest left from Sundays catch.

Yea and there was a couple boats on the water to say the least.

Hey You:

Nice job!  good report...

Yea, what's up with the mumbos down at the Tred this year? I figured that might be the Wye crabs that made a wrong turn, huh?  The small ones are a pain in the rear (they can ravish your bait too) but it is kind of neat because you are expecting some smaller crab come up on the line and then you see the line go back ( like at the Wye) and see these enormous claws trying to hold the bait and that large white underbelly area of the crab and you know you are going to get a mumbo!
