Even a blind man knows when the sun is shinin'

Hey now,
Thinking of heading to Woodland Beach tomorrow. Have never been there. What is the set up there? Low tide is scheduled for around 8:30 in the morning. Can I crab there at low tide or should I wait until the tide comes in a little? Also, as far as set up there, can I use hand lines or do I need to use traps only? I don't have a boat, so I will be crabbing from the banks or bridges or whatever is there.  Any info that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

There is a pier at Woodland Beach. It's been a long time since I was there though.

 Angry Sad Huh
Had a terrible day at Woodland Sat.  Arrived a little before 10 A.M.  Low incoming tide. Caught a few small ones in  about an hours time.  No one else was doing much either. Including the guys fishing at the end of the pier. Left and drove further south. Found a spot somewhere between Leipsic and Little Creek and joined some other folks crabbing from a bridge. Lots of small ones. Same for the others there. Probably caught 30 or 40 in 90 mins. time but not a single one was a keeper. Spoke to one of the folks there and was told that he usually does really well there. Maybe later in the season things will pick up. Stopped at Augustine Beach on the way home to try my luck at fishing. First time there. Not much better luck there, but I may come back and try again soon. Much closer to home than some other fishing spots. Despite the lack of success, it was still a nice day to be out of the house and exploring parts of my home state that I was not overly familiar with!

deaddeer,
I don't have a boat. Is there somewhere I can get to the channels to some hand lining from shore?
