I caught a couple of dozen crabs by Parsons Island last weekend before heading out Eastern Bay for a little fishing (which was excellent by the way).  The crabs (doublers) were riding the tide and you could scoop them right up.  It was pretty cool to see them travel that fast.  My question is this, has anyone noticed that the crabs in the Narrows just aren't as sweet or black as River crabs?  Don't get me wrong, they were tasty, just not as sweet.

agree with you Dave, last year hit goodhands/kirwin/hog island almost exclusively, this year the Chester, and they are definetely sweeter and muddier.

Dave,

I agree,

I have caught crabs in the choptank and my buddy is comm charter capt and he crabs the creeks off the main bay and they are not as sweet.  Water quality?
higher salinity..?  River crabs always seem sweeter.  bottom line still all good.
