Scooped up around 40 Saturday night.
Great conditions crystal clear water, no wind and a nice low tide.
Only took a couple of hours.
The big females are starting to show.

Ooops Grin
Sorry Brian scratch that last post I thought you wrote Jimmie's.
I don't bother the females, i just let them be.
Been crabbin long enough to tell the she's from the he's from a good distance.
I usually take it a step further and I also pass up doublers.
There isn't much of a crab industry in Brooklyn so the LINGO is all new to me.
In Bklyn it's (male) (female) (softie) (leatherback) (double decker).

Which part of Jamaica Bay are you near? I haven't found a decent spot anywhere near there that I want to bring my family to yet and catch them =(. I've went to Canarsie Pier and all I've caught over there is small crabs that I think are stone crabs. Can you help a fellow Brooklynite out?
