when is the best time to go crabbing in nj? Any good loc?

any time soon you should be able to go crabbin if it every quicks blowin but the best time is after the first shed  it happens here usally the last week in may first week in june then crabbin should be good all summer Wink

Get your stuff set before sunrise. Once the sun hits the water crabs move to deeper water. The warmer the water the better your chances.

 Wink I sugest getting on the water as early as possible. Like I reccomend around 6:45. You run best around there.I am not sure where you are located so fill me in on that

6:45 am is too late.  the sun is already up- crabs can see ya if youre using a hand line. but you can find them sticking on the pilings when the sun is up. now when should ya crab from a pier? avoid the weekend. i go on a weeknight-have pier to my whole self. im only 2 hours away when i get off work. can get a half bushel or more in less then 4 hours where i go.
