Attended the Mid-Atlantic Food Expo at the convention center in Balit. yesterday, to see what all Maryland had to offer.
One of the vendors ther ask us about Calico Crabs from the Florida region, any body hear of such a thing?

Guess it's more of a fishtank crab than a steam pot crab!

Actually there are quite a few in the gulf of Mexico. Although I have always released them because they are fewer than the blue crab and are very unique.

Calico Crabs, New Jersey Shoreites, isnt this the same thing as our speckled sand crab?

NJ has the speckled sand crab, which by the way....I used them for bait, good stuff. Can you eat these?
