I think I know the law for Crab pots in Va, you need your last 4 dig of your soc. and your last name.  Is that all that needs to be on the floats?

I know a few of the guys on the board here have talked about what they charge to build the pots, but I would think the price is based on the size correct?  How big of a pot do you want to have?  What type of prices would someone charge?  Any pictures on the web anywhere of your work?

Thanks in advance,

JP

what should a coated pot cost to buy.  I don't think I want to put the effort into building one if it is going to rust at the end of the year.  What should a pot cost 20$-30$.  I only want a few of them for when we are in VA to through over the end of the boat and pick them up next day, not looking to make a living from it.  Just want to eat some crabs.

Thanks,

John

JP
I've  seen them as low as $15 and as high as $28. All coated and commercial size.  Smaller traps cost a few bucks less.
