Went to the Wye today, last trip of the year, our first year crabbing. Caught two bushels: 1.5 bushel of medium to mumbo males and 1/2 bushel of large females.  Tried 25-10 feet of water and found them in 12-15 feet. What a pleasant surprise for us as the best we had so far was 3/4 of bushel after long hard work. Today it was just a miracle. The spots we knew of were taken today and we picked a new spot, and what a result! Home before rush hour and lots of crabs to steam (lots of friends to call too!)  Smiley

Met a few BCA fellows today, also for the first time. Was nice meeting you, guys. Will try to take part in some of the parties from now on. (We were in a 16' Penn Yan - asian girl with a blond blue-eyes husband  Cool)

Good luck to those of you heading there on the weekend!

closer to the mouth, the water temp got up to 60 degrees and crabs run excellent between 9-11 ish, then slowed down but still picked up 1/2 bushel by 1pm.

Thanks, guys.  We had friends over and only managed to consume a bushel last night. Saved another one for the weekend. Shame our football team is on 'by' this weekend, otherwise would do a football party.

Our crabbing spot is not really a secret, I am sure almost all of you go past it towards the mouth. Green marker and red triangle is within the area we were crabbing in.
