somebody lifting the pots to take a look
If ya stir them up they 4get about eating and start looking for a way out.
Pots old? corners of the opening get loose and them crabs squeeze out.

How do you know they are getting out?
I have the same pots and have never had problems. At least, to my knowledge.

Good point. How do you know they are getting out? I think all my traps are defective cause I only caught one crab so far. lol. Hope you figure it out.

Well cartman, where are you crabbing at? By traps I assume you mean pots. Where your pots are, whether it be the depth of water, or even the area where you have them on the body of water, all makes a difference in how many crabs you can and will catch. Your pots may even be in a "dead zone" in the water where no living organism wants to be (lack of O2). Or maybe you didn't clip down the bungee cord that holds down the escape door!
