To all you guys & girls who enjoy rec crabbing, there are changes afoot. Unfortunately, nobody will know about it until it's too late. Myself and other members of the MRCA have been emailing and calling repeatedly since late last winter to get the MDDNR to post the meeting minutes from the TFAC & SFAC meetings where these changes are being discussed. Under Maryland law, these meeting minutes are to be posted withing three weeks following the meeting. It's not happening. The MWA is well represented on these commissions who decide what the regulations shall be. I'll leave you to imagine why the meeting minutes are not being posted. Unfortunately, it may already be too late to stop the 300' trotline limit and other trap and gear limits being forced on the recs. We may have a good case for a lawyer, however, since the minutes weren't posted. Here's the link to the TFAC http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/tidalfish/tidal_fish_members.html click on the "archive" link. Here's the link to the SFAC http://www.dnr.state.md.us/fisheries/recreational/sfac.html click on the "archive" link. DNR email addresses to complain to: rfranks@dnr.state.md.usmslattery@dnr.state.md.usmlgary@dnr.state.md.us

Restrict the gear and increase prices; what else is new? Thanks for the link! Interesting what the politicians are trying to get away with!
