My wife and young sons have decided that for father's day they are going to take me out for a small picnic with a bit of crabbing, and a bit of fishing (from shore - we have no boat.)  I will bring along a portable charcoal grill with some burgers and brats for lunch.  Are there any good State or County parks in the Baltimore area where we can fish and crab from shore yet still have access to a picnic table and perhaps even a clean bathroom with running water for the enevitable diaper changes.  Also where can I go to get the crab traps, etc. that I will need.  I am by no means a serious crabber so I don't really need anything too fancy or complicated...

Sandy point has picnic tables, grills to cook on, swimming, bathrooms and fishing but no place to crab. There are other places and people have talked about this topic on other forms but I'm not to sure which one exactly. But someone else might be abeal to help you.

Fort Howard Park in Baltimore County.  It is right next to Fort Howard VA Hospital.  They have a pier, bathrooms, picnic area, grills and even a playground.  Happy Fathers Day to ya!

When I launch at Sandy Point I always see a bunch of folks crabbing from a nice clean 150' pier.  Never checked it out but I think I saw a post from someone who caught a couple there.
