His behavior and emotions have now changed for the worse since he has "doubled up". I am trying to give them their privacy, but I want to get a video too..... Just before the double-up happened, Basket was his normal self, always begging for food and not acting fearful when a human walked next to the aquarium. Now his behavior seems to be controlled by that female....... Does this sound familiar? I think humans do this too don't they?

Today I tested the power of love with Mr. Basket Case. I took about 4 pieces of steak (Basket's favorite) and I dropped them in the tank to see if love was more important than food........ Basket refused to turn loose of his new love but he did drag her around with him as he did his best to scarf down some steak..... Actually it was quite comical. He would often accidentally shove the food into her grasp and she was also eating it up. His normal method of trapping the food underneath his body does not work anymore because there is a female parked there and she gets it........ All this tells me that it must be TRUE love and I must respect this.

I can't believe that you are allowing these two to live in sin like that with no wedding ceremony.

That female is taking too long to bring this to fruition. They've been in a "love-lock" for 7 days and it's high time they "got it on"! This whole crustacean love thing is too drawn out to suit me.... HUMANS don't even fool around THAT much! I mean GEEZE, we just go out to the bar and get liquored up and then spend the rest of our life married. These crabs stay in an embrace for an eternity.... They had better start acting right very soon!!

Basket and his wife have now been doubled up for 8 days straight. She is becoming much more tame now.... In fact this morning at 5AM as I was eating my cereal in the dim kitchen light she started the begging routine just like what Basket always does with the waving of the claws.... The BOTH of them are now always reaching up and waving their claws in unison... back and forth... to cajole me out of some steak.... Since she still has her appetite, I assume she is not going to molt within the next 12 hours... This makes me mad. I want to see some action in the tank before I have to go on vacation next week..... Don't they know this?
