Here it is ----- the MEAT LOVERS PARADISE !!!

Rodzio Grill - The Brazillian Steakhouse.   (Also in Salt Lake & Orem, UT and Houston, Texas.)
NW corner of 18th and Wynkoop St.
303-294-9277

Rodzio - It means ROTATION  in Portuguese, (A main language of Brazil).

An old converted Ice Warehouse – the interior is light and airy. Crisp starched linen on the tables and prompt seating started everything off well. (See picture #1).

First course – the Salad Bar. And what a choice of items. The following are treats I had, (and I didn’t touch half of the choices).

Lean Pastrami slices;

Fresh Mozzarella Balls – In Olive oil and combined with olives, Basil, Oregano, and some fresh tomato slices;

A very fresh Crab salad w/ chopped fresh tomatoes in a light sweetened chilled sauce – very, very good;

A house Green Olive and Potato salad;

and finally - A House Green salad with ‘hunks’ of Bacon.

Next - Appetizers  that were served as I perused the salad bar included -

Cinnamon Glazed - Fried Bananas;

Fried Rice Balls with a Tomato dipping sauce;

Cheddar Cheese Bread Balls;

and last on the great sounding but actually very bland Appetizer items - Corn Breadsticks.

Then the Main Course:  All the meat is served from a skewer and carved off onto your plate. (See Picture #2 & #3). After my Scotch was set in front of me, (ya can’t enjoy your meal with one), I started with Roast Beef w/a soy flavoring, (a little dry); Then Baked Chicken, (What can I say about it? Ok - hey, it's chicken; Next - Top Sirloin, (An End Cut that was flavorful, if not a little tough.); Then - Bacon Wrapped Turkey (nicely done, moist & very tasty); Next, and now we were getting to some ‘goodies’ - Wild Boar Sausage, (very dry - but very tasty. A lot of spices in it.);  Then, Baked Pheasant - (also dry but uniquely flavorful); Next - Beef Tenderloin - (not much different than the roast beef but without the Soy flavoring); next a Pork Loin - (very moist w/a  flavorful baked glaze); Then a second helping of  Beef Tenderloin - (this serving was not cooked so ‘well done’ - much more moist and flavorful); then another Turkey wrapped in Bacon; Then a new item - Beef Brisket - (as all good brisket is prepared, this was slow cooked in a pot with a small amount of water & spices. It just fell apart on the plate – very tasty); Then another helping of Top Sirloin; Next - another new item - Baked Ham with a whole Pineapple, both sliced off the skewer in front of me, (The ham was dry and the Pineapple was excellent!); and I finished with a Brazilian Pork, Large Link Sausage - excellent!

One thing I neglected to mention - they give you a wooden dowl painted Red and Green on opposite ends. When you want more meat - you turn the dowl with the green side up. When you want a break - red side up. (See picture #4).

As I was sitting there thinking how I was going to finish what I had on my plate, the server walked by and offered me a new skewer of Baked White Fish! I turned it down ….. honestly …. I turned it .....and the desert offering down!!! (Please don’t hold this against me. It would affect my reputation).

More food that you can eat ….. (12 different meat items alone), more than you can even try ……. Burp!!!! Along with three well poured drinks and my generous gratuity - $50.00 Very reasonable!

A 4.6 claw recommendation

As my lovely server, Camilla said as I left - ''Obrigoda''  - It was very good.
