Crabbed for 1.5 hrs and got 7 all 6-7" some very very nice crabs for this time of year in NJ.

Once the wind kicked up we had a tough time staying put even when I had us bridled...

September size crabs in Mid-July it's been a great season...

Chicken/Hand lines, Lower Barnegat

we probably would have had 2 dz but we didn't keep anything under 6"  

We try to hit a full tide but it got waaaay too snotty...

Sorry I did get 1 keeper out of 2 pots, but I don't leave my pots unattended and if I can't see them w/ bino's I pull 'em...

I've been burned one too many times by a comm crabber.

The crabbing has been slow, however the rewards have been great for this time of year. Over the July 4th weekend we spent 2-1/2 hours on the bay and caught 14 crabs 6" or better. Hope this weekend is the same.
