I spent last week in Destin and caught zero crabs. Used the Danielson folding trap baited with red snapper heads and soaked it two days in the Destin Harbor and one day in the Choctawhatchee Bay. Saw one or two small ones around, but nothing in the trap. The Half Hitch Bait Shop said they had no reports on crabs but I get the idea not many people crab in the area. Saw some floats from traps way out in the bay so I guess the crabs were still in deeper water. None of the seafood shops had any live crabs. Did have a nice day fishing on a party boat out in the Gulf. Caught a bunch of red snapper but the new federal regulations only allow you to keep two fish.

there should be crabs there. probably on mud flats or near grass lines.  my traps are off a river in about 4 ft of water. usually get a few dozen a week between two of them. they are pots rather not traps.
