Got crabs?

« on: June 06, 2007, 10:06:18 PM »

I just moved here from NJ and was wondering if someone could help me out with how and where blue claws are caught down here.  I live in Orlando and would love to do some crabbin.  I have plenty of traps and drop lines.  What is the bait of choice here?  I am use to using bunker up in NJ and chicken.  Anyone got any advice?  Thanks and I look forward to crabbin down here.  I am just dying for some blue claws!

Dang it all, I told them boys to close the gates or we would get a bunch of new yankees down here,  Roll Eyes Grin   bunker or chicken works well,  get on 528 east and try crabbing off the causeways going across the river

In Florida you are limited to five traps 12" X 12" base. If you are in a boat you need a fishing license.
Off bridges, piers or land you are OK!  I would suggest you look over the State regulations first.
Best of luck to you and enjoy those crabs! Smiley
