I am going to Long beach Island ( LBI )in NJ for crabbing this weekend for the first time.  Anybody know some good, specific locations I can go to? I haven’t seen any specific spot where I can use my drop chicken net off docs/bridges in that area.  I am new to the area.

Thanks!

The Ship Bottom pier is pretty nice & easy to access...

come over the causeway and make a right after the last bridge...good place to take a kid

No I was thinking of the area before the pier was there where the people used to crab off of the bulkheads under  the east side o the causeway bridge

OK the pier is just south of the last bridge and apparently people are doing well off of it.

Yeah I talked to the Owner and its been hit & miss, but I did see a couple renters bringing in a decent amount of crabs...The Owner has never been one to sugar coat things so I tend to believe him.  If the renters know where to go they slay 'em if not they go home empty handed...

I think the immense amount of fresh water run-off is slowing things the most...I've never had so many big crabs w/ every trip getting at least 2 doz. I've had to work for them & burn gas, but they're there!
