Have boat, will travel.

Ok, I was going to take my soon to be neighbors chicken necking, but it seems there's really no good place to go from the shore.
Due to myself having a boat and a trotline, now I'd like to take them some place quiet with large crabs. I usually do well over on the Severn, but size wise it's hit or miss.
Can anyone recommand a place where there's not to many folks where the crabs tend to run 6+ inches? I'm willing to travel up to 2 hrs from Baltimore.
Thanks!!

Good luck finding someone willing to tell you a spot where there are mostly 6"+ crabs and not many folks around, but if you find it let us know

Just go out and try where we are all catching them here on this forum. You will rarely find a "quiet" spot where crabs are being caught...
Anyway...go to the Chester...or Wye...or ANYWHERE else where there are posted reports of catches. Once you get there, you won't care about any noise...as long as you're catching crabs!!!

Just before the very mouth of the Wye there is a cut catty corner to the light house about 6'-9' of water. Plenty enough room for a trot line. Good spot for big crabs. If you are taking traps as well, just after the cut going out towards the mouth, 13'-17' of water you should do well. This is to the opposite side of the lighthouse. I'm not afraid to share spots. I don't own em!

Thanks everyone for you suggestions. I'm going to see if my future neighbors don't mind driving down to Tred.
From what I've been reading, there are plenty of large crabs there and lots of small crabs to keep the excitement up. Plus, I've never been there before.

Madcrab,
You heading down to tred this weekend? I might see you there since I'm really lazy about getting up, but if you go, let me know.

Nope...headed down OC to try my hand at a big flattie. If you're at the Oceanic Pier...then we will definitely see each other. 10 pounder caught there last week...I'd be happy to just catch 1 legal size one!!;D

We went down to the Tred and got about 3 dozen keepers in 4 hours. Man was it a tough day. Launched from Easton and ran about 3 miles south. Ended up moving the trot line 3 times and boy was it windy and choppy.
